White tablecloths, beautiful Christmas flowers, and lit candles create a festive and cozy ambiance. Warmly welcome to our classic Christmas buffet. Tofta Herrgård is situated close to the sea between Marstrand and Kungälv - just over half an hour from Gothenburg and Stenungsund.

The restaurant, located in the manor's beautiful main building, offers three cozy dining rooms. If you book the entire place, we can accommodate up to 80 guests. The manor is family-owned and has been hosting Christmas buffets for 30 years. Settle into a Christmas-decorated manor with a magical ambiance that brings many of our guests back year after year.

Our Christmas buffet is a loving mix of cherished classics and new favorites. We collaborate year-round with local growers, farmers, and farm shops, so every year we can surprise you with new delicacies. You are welcomed into the very kitchen of the manor to choose the treats you prefer, and there you also have the chefs on hand if you want to talk about Christmas food!

A bit about the food:

 

Our herring and fish table is especially appreciated by our guests. As accompaniments to our delicious herring, we offer, among other things, the unsweetened egg cheese (äggost) in a traditional Bohuslän style – the sweetened version can be found on the dessert table. We also offer various varieties of smoked and cured fish. Lovely mussels and shrimps are also included on a Bohuslän Julbord, in our opinion!

Ham, pâté, and sausage are essential elements of a Swedish Christmas buffet. We particularly enjoy our game products, served with various salads, jams, and pickles.

The manor kitchen's original, black iron stove sets the scene for beloved classics such as lutefisk, pork ribs and our homemade meatballs made from locally sourced beef – an essential part of the Christmas table at Tofta.

To conclude the meal, we can tempt you with delicious cheeses and a delectable dessert table. Psst! Don't miss our candy cabinet filled with treats for both young and old.

Christmas market at Magasinet

The farm’s old granary Magasinet  hosts a Christmas market during 3 weekends in Advent. Experience the Christmas spirit at the manor, with crafts, gifts and Christmas food. Enjoy a cozy coffee break in the café, get inspired by all the exhibitors, maybe buy some Christmas gifts or a few holiday treats?

History

A classic Bohuslän Christmas buffet in an 18th-century setting – a cherished tradition for over 30 years.

The restaurant is located in the manor’s main building, a listed historic landmark. Tofta Herrgård is family-owned, and we have been hosting our traditional Julbord here for more than 30 years.

During the first decade, the main building was still a private residence, and the Christmas buffets were organised by restaurateur Rolf Karlander, together with Petter’s parents, Lillemor and Bertil Karlander. Since 2004, the next generation – Petter and Karen Karlander – have continued the tradition.

Many of our guests return year after year, and every season new visitors discover the warmth and festive charm of Christmas at Tofta.

Ett klassiskt bohuslänskt julbord i 1700-tals miljö i snart 30 år!

Restaurangen ligger i herrgårdens huvudbyggnad som är kulturhistoriskt minnesmärke. Tofta Herrgård är familjeägd och vi har anordnat julbord nu i snart 30 år.

De första 10 åren var huvudbyggnaden privatbostad och julborden var i regi av krögaren Rolf Karlander tillsammans med Petters föräldrar Lillemor & Bertil Karlander. Sedan 2004 har nästa generation Karlander, Petter och Karen, tagit över ansvaret för julborden.

Under dessa tre decennier har julbordet på Tofta Herrgård blivit en kär tradition för många av våra gäster. Många återkommer år efter år för att njuta av den unika atmosfären och den goda maten. Varje år välkomnar vi också nya gäster som upptäcker charmen med Toftas alldeles speciella julbord. Vår målsättning är att varje gäst ska känna sig som hemma och få uppleva ett oförglömlig julbord i en miljö fylld av värme, tradition och julglädje.
